Free jumping makos...almost unreal
Yesterday I went offshore with a couple friends and we got into a lot of sbft but the amount of makos of all sizes free jumping was insane, I have never seen anything like it. One huge fish jumped 12 X in a row one right after another like a blue marlin. Some did end over end flips. We we not fishing for sharks but I tell you if you want makos they are out there everywhere. I can't count how many we saw it was all day.
Do they do this to get parasites off them or perhaps attract a mate? They were not chasing anything. Also saw one lone seal out there that looked perplexed...I think his days were numbered. I didn't have may camera:wall: but if you want a mako, now is the time. |
Jim,
They were trying to get on your next calendar! |
They jump to try and shake off parasites.
