Mycobacteriosis

Anybody running into infected fish this year? Not that I've been seeing a lot of fish lately......but I've yet to run into it this year.

None this year but quite a few last year. I call em booger fish or (BOOGAH'S). They make me want to take a shower after taking the hooks out. They are usually the females that hang out with male bluefish:rotf2:

not sure if its micro-don't-wanna-touch--osis or not, but a lot of the fish I have been sellin from gooseberry have had weird red spots on them.....I ain't eatin' 'em

You can't necessarily tell if a fish is infected by looking at it from the outside, although red lesions often is an indicator. You have to open the fish up and examine the insides to see if it's starting to waste away. Wear gloves when handling bass, period.

I've seen a LOT of fish this year that I suspected were infected...not a good situation.

Haven't seen much where I have been G. I'm surprised the dealer would really want to buy those fish Mike. Hell I had to fill out paper work for the blues I sold this week to show I put them on ice and took care of them and if I didn't I got a lower price.
