For the Love of Beer.....

I know we have done this before but I think with all this beer talk its time for the new edition of the "whats your favorite beer" thread.

Favorites or honorable mentions...lets go!

Unibroue (just about any they make, and I have tried most of them)
Dogfish Head (really lovin the Punkin latetly)
Sierra Nevada (Torpedo & Pale Ale)
Allagash Belgian White

ok I am getting thirsty.....

Backbeach Jake 09-22-2009 06:00 PM

Sam Adams Boston Ale and Octoberfest at this time of year.
There's a friend of mine in Fitchburg who makes his own. His Summer Ale is absolutely perfect! I heard Angels sing as I quaffed one last Summer, it will haunt me until next Summer.

flatts1 09-22-2009 06:10 PM

Great thread Jenn.

It is really tough for me to pick a favorite. I take forever to pick out something at the package store.

Whenever I can't decide, my go-to beer is a Bass Ale. I just can't go wrong with it.

But I'm not a snob either. I'll drink Budweiser anytime at friend's houses.

PRBuzz 09-22-2009 06:14 PM

Whiskey Barrel Porter (IncrediBrew), Cambridge Brewery (CBC) Porter, Sam Adams Winterfest, Sam Adams Octoberfest and the No 1 Guinness Stout.

Its that Time of year again for Black and Tans w/ Guiness and Post Road Pumpkin Ale..... Nothing better

The one thing that I'm going to miss from Striperfest this year is Harpoon Octoberfest.

I wonder if Gansett will mind if I BMOB :rotf2:

Ipswich Harvest Ale

I brew my own and there's nothing as good out there.

For storebought beers I like New Castle Nut Brown , Pilsner Urquelle , Sam Adams Boston Lager , Magic Hat Blind Faith. There is also a good Imperial stout out there but I forget the name , I know the bottle though.

thefishingfreak 09-23-2009 05:20 PM

My favorite was allways More. Of coarse Free was good as well.

5/0 09-23-2009 05:33 PM

Saltheart 09-23-2009 08:23 PM

More and free...I like that! :)

I quit drinking beer once. Worst ten minutes of my life!

Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Now why would you ruin a perfectly good Guinness by mixing it with anything else?

Jimbo 09-24-2009 12:54 PM

Just returned from a week in London, so I'd have to say, Fuller's London Pride.

That is why my version of a Black&Tan is in the right hand a Guinness and the left hand an ale or lager (Octoberfest works fine) and never the twain shall meet except after it is too late in the stomach!

Raven 09-24-2009 06:48 PM

Adding to perfection, only makes it imperfect.

My Guinness shall never be mixed with anything.

Head north regularly to hike or ski, and make a point of visiting the Tavern at the Woodstock Inn in No. Woodstock, NH. Good food and a micro-brewery. Try the Pig's Ear Brown Ale. Some local stores carry Woodstock brews.

fishbones 09-25-2009 09:53 AM

In my opinion, Guinness isn't even the best beer brewed by the Guinness brewery. I'd take a Smithwick's first, then a Guinness.

I'll be having a few beers tonight, but unfortunately the selection will be pretty poor where I'm going.
