Winds

Suck!!!! (or maybe blow)

Rockfish9 09-25-2009 11:50 AM

yea, they do, but it is supposed to lay down after midnight, which in my neck of the woods, means dea low... the incoming should be fine..

MrHunters 09-25-2009 11:51 AM

white caps as far as the eye can see.

ProfessorM 09-25-2009 02:19 PM

next week looks to be very windy too, if you believe those marine reports

PRBuzz 09-25-2009 03:02 PM

Drove by some of the big lakes in Lakeville today and I wouldn't even want to take my 22' boat out on those today! I think I even saw whitecaps on small approx. 5 acre ponds.

ProfessorM 09-25-2009 03:07 PM

LOL, yeah those lakes can look like the ocean on days like this. I'm praying for a few hours tomorrow morning to seek some albies before it goes SE.

stiff tip 09-25-2009 03:21 PM

i fish 4 albies today on the south side at waq bay . fished till 10 am conditions got bad w/ 20 to 30 north winds .got 1 albie on a popper.

ProfessorM 09-25-2009 03:39 PM

ones better than none Dave. good going

ProfessorM 09-25-2009 04:48 PM

see you wait a few hours and they will change the forecast. looks decent off south side tomorrow. I am sure it will be a zoo. I hate boating on weekends but they won't be around for ever.

Raider Ronnie 09-25-2009 05:04 PM

I think this makes 5 or 6 sat in a row with it blowing NE :wall:

striperman36 09-25-2009 05:24 PM

Sakonnett and Mt Hope looked nasty today.
Sad , Sad.

NOAA is batting about a .200AVG. Typically, they've been wrong against our favor. 1ft or less in the bay the other morning was predicted - we went out pre-dawn in 2-3 with a 4+ mixed in.

ProfessorM 09-26-2009 12:16 PM

Flat beautiful other there this morning on south side of mid cape, although the albies acted like albies and just frustrated us mostly.

striperman36 09-26-2009 01:41 PM

I got the duty and it's damnabile that today would be the good day of the fortnight.
I think I'm done for the season, arthoscopic on Friday.

ProfessorM 09-26-2009 02:38 PM

good luck Bill.

striperman36 09-26-2009 02:46 PM

Take my Knee, PLEEEAASSEE!!!

PRBuzz 09-26-2009 04:40 PM

Great day on the water, from Menemsha to Gay Head to Quick's Hole. Too bad the fishing wasn't great but boated a few black sea bass and only one keeper scup. No sign of albies, blues, stripers or anything else.

MrHunters 09-27-2009 09:04 AM

the morning was pretty snotty yesterday until about 1100.
Managed 1 albie and 1 spanish mackerel before heading in. spanish mack was delicious!

they are still working. ;)

WESTPORTMAFIA 09-27-2009 11:32 AM

Nasty as a SOB last night. But still managed some decent fish.
