Last trip
Made a last trip out to the haunting grounds. Caught a whole poopload of nothing. I saw a few shad caught but no bass. I tried the marina, saw nothing there, broke off towards the reef. I hit every stinking jetty on the way there and on the way back. The tide was coming in too. I don't understand it. No fishies. Tried a 5/8ths Casting swimmer, Redfins, wind cheaters, bucktails, rattle traps. Nothing! Not even a swirl. I headed back to the marina and shot the bull for a while and then went home.
Blech. No fish. Oh well. Patrick |
Wow Patrick, your pots really do get a lot of replies. What would we do with out you? This post is on fire, keep up the good work buddy.

Too bad its over Patrick. The last trip is always a sad day , even if you do hook up. Time to start getting ready for next season. thanks for the report on the conditions in your area. people usually only value a report that says the fish are here. well I think knowing where the fish are not is also worth posting.
Striperman , maybe I'm missing something but I see no merit in your reply to Patrick. He's doing pretty good lately in terms of behaving. How you doing in that department? BTW , why do you insist on using the name Striperman. Everybody who's anybody in striper fishing circles knows exactly who striperman is and it ain't you! Striperking , striperhunter , striperseeker .... there's a million names out there. Why steal an internet name from one of the best fisherman on the striper coast? |
Yeh, I was wondering about that "Striperman " name myself. The guy I see using that tag is the holder of The Mass striped bass record @ 73# and has too many fifties to mention. He IS the Striperman - he earned it.
Yours truly, The Phantom |
Do you think we can live with it provided he doesn't capitalize the "S" - ya know, little s for Derek, Big [4] S [/4] for Tony?? Derek, you should know that Tony Steztko is called "Striperman" all around the web. He is truly an amazing fisherman both with the eel and the fly with countless bass over 50 including the state record fish... Just so you understand when people are a little miffed when you use that name...

Didn't know someone else had that name. I had never seen it before on this board. it's a pretty common name to choose, it's not like I took it away from him. Anyone can think up of that name.
|
OK, you didn't know about Tony's Internet nickname, that's OK. He is the current Mass record fish holder @ 73 POUNDS, a linesider that he caught of Nauset beach. He also managed a 54 this summer. He is also a HIGHLY REGARDED surf guide out of that area. Certainly a good guy for you to hook up with over the summer to learn a few things. But understand that some people think you are misrepresenting him. Not necessarily that they think you are doing it intentionally, but they feel that it's Tony's handle...
