scalloping ...boston?

anyone know anything about scalloping....diving for em...boston area? permits etc? whats needed. where to look. not looking for spots, but suggestions. have no idea where they like to live. i love scallops and have some motivated divers who have never done it and would like to learn.

I used to dive for them alot out in Salem harbor. Misery and Eagle island in 60-70 feet. The sea scallops were usually found on the sandy bottom. As many as you could put in the bag. Bay scallops on the other hand like eel grass. Find the eel grass and you will find scallops.

Also the back of Childrens Island off Marblehead is great for scallops.....40 to 50 feet of h20
