Skinny fish for Sept 30

Caught a 35" fish from my favorite shore haunt last evening.Just before dusk, yellow pencil, real slow. Nice battle geting her through the rocks. But she was very thin....maybe fifteen pounds. Would like to think they would be fattening up for the migration. Anyone else seeing thinner fish than in falls past?

Is that a true weight? Did you weight it? 15 pounds sounds about right for a 35 incher?

No scale.

Chart says min. 15.5 avg. 18.5 max. 20

Just looked skinny for the time of year.

15 lbs seams about right. those charts might be based on fork length.

That's about right Ross. Use to be a 36" fish was 20# but it hasn't been that since the late 80s.
In the Spring when they were feasting on live adult bunker I had a 38" fish go 25# but that is the exception and she was FAT! See my avatar

skinny or not, still sounds fun Ross!
