Walter "Killer" Kowalski came from north of Boston (maybe Reading?) and was a seasonal camper at Bourne Scenic Park, and a sometimes Canal fisherman. Professor Turo Tanaka used to own a bar called T-San's in Fall River, which I believe is now called the Depot. Chief Jay Strongbow was from Providence, legend had it. He had a brother there who owned a business and had pictures of Strongbow all over the walls. |
The Chief vs Jesse Ventura
And Gorilla Monsoon with the commentary...:lurk: YouTube - Chief Jay Strongbow vs Jesse Ventura |
I just watched that whole video and it brought me back to being a kid watching and reinacting the bouts with my Dad. Something about wrestling these days i can't watch one second of it but i could watch the old ones forever. The Gorilla's commentary was flawless and not over the top, it makes you think it's real. He was great. RIP Capt Lou.
