Cutty/P&S Report
Anyone fishing down there recently? From boat? Seems like Fall is progressing fast, water temps dropping, and from now on my efforts will be focused on the SOUTH coast. Quick's Hole today was dead but bluefish schools in between Quicks's and Cutty area.
May have to start thinking of launching from Westport! Looking for boating buddies, PM me. |
This time of the year with water temp in Buzzards Bay down to low 50's, think Tautog! From Little Compton to Cleveland Ledge.
Great fishing close to shore or in waters under 25 feet and quite delicious baked or in a chowder. Green Crabs are the ticket to get in. |

Been toggin on some rock piles with a few friends the last couple days out that way and they were chewin' and chewin good!
All I can say is it don't get any better than that! I bet one day the 3 of us had 70-80 real quality fish in about 2 hours. It has been awesome. (the next day it was a little slower but it was still a very solid trip) Nearly all fish in the 5-9# class. Water temp was 54 on day 56 the next. We were all alone out there until a guy eased up to us, saw the the action...drove over directly above of my anchor and marked the spot, then took off.:fury: Bass is still kinda slow but I heard the last few days it picked up and some of the guys not still burned out from the derby are doing OK with good numbers of decent fish...nothing crazy but a marked improvement from the past couple weeks. And the fish are fat, really fat. I may hit the beach one night this weekend but that tog bite is so frigging good and I really enjoy that kind of fishing so much I really hope to mooch a couple more trips this fall. After I spend all day on the water I have trouble hitting the night surf stuff, I need a break for a day or so to recoup. |
Disgusting

George is too modest. He knows his turf as good as anybody out there. I always learn several things fishing with him, although he always says his passenger that day is the best but that is just him being modest but I don't doubt him either.

The signs are obvious - I'm beginning to suspect he may be fishing eels under cover of darkness unbeknownst to his friends....:smokin: Hey, not that there's anything wrong with that...:alright: |
