Sea Clear II with complete US charts. I bought on eBay here is a link:

There is a nice video demo at the bottom of the page.

You can print out various local areas, show all your hot spots in pink, laminate them and sell the sheets! If you want partners have them add their hot spots, too.

I went toggin' with my Dad yesterday and had a banner day as this past spring was my first time ever targeting the things as they are the tastiest fish that swim in the sea and I'm not a big fish eater. My other favorite is cod/haddock.

We were along the southside of Naushon Island, on a spot on the charts where the water goes from about 16' to 92' real quick, lots of rocks around and NO ONE else around at all. The waters were crowded with em'. It has to be that no one fishes for the things as there was no one else out. They are a blast to catch too as they put up a good account of themselves despite being anywhere from 1-6 lbs, like bulldogs as they look like them as well with those Chicklet-baby-teeth.

Tog and the cod/haddock are the last fish I catch before the season is over for me so another few weeks and I'll cover the boat up. It is nice being the only one out there with the trees all brown, orange and yellow and that fall light.

Hope you catch em' up out there Niko.

Thanks for the report. I see only a single spot on the charts that matches your description. We'll definitely give it a try tomorrow (weather permitting).

Buzz for Niko

fish4striper 11-02-2009 11:46 AM

what's a tog? oh yeah those tough black things I used to love to fish for before I got this tuna disease :smash:

looks bumpy tomorrow, be safe guys

niko 11-02-2009 02:01 PM

c'mon jeff. bang out and come slumming w/ us. seas don't look too bad, it'll be a walk in the park compared to my last trip w/ you :yak5:. we're taking your boat buzz

BassyiusMaximus 11-02-2009 02:50 PM

Anywhere along that shoreline, or even the northside of Naushon is Tautog City this time of year and will be again on the spring. In Buzzards Bay, look on the charts for where the rocks are and that is where the Tog will be, especially if you can anchor among the lobster traps, that is a sure giveaway and the pots are chum for you and the fish, yes!

No one else fishing there, pretty much year-round, no houses, no lights, no nothing but shoreline, rocks, fish and birds. Like Fisheye on here and his "Tog gone wild"-teaser, I have dove the shorelines and am amazed at the fish creeping around the islands, it is wonder for sure. It is good not many fish for tog but it is understandable as there is only a 3 fish per person limit and 16".

Let us know how you do.
