Kayak Winter Storage? Is it best to store it in a heated basement if possible?? Will the extreme cold or temp swings cause any problems if stored in a cold garage?? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated! |

suspended from the ceiling indoors where its dry plastics are susceptible to mold and are affected by ultra violet rays of even winter sunshine... just my .02 cents |

Last year I wrapped mine in a blue tarp and slung it from the clothes line. I ran a 2x8 from post to post to dangle it from old seatbelts. |

I have mine sitting on big styrofoam blocks right now....think that will be ok? |

Depending on the construction of your Cave, hang it from the collar ties, or slide it on your rafters. |

DO NOT hang it from the two ends.......it will sag over time. If you decide to hang it in the basement, I wood suggest making a "hanging shelf" from a piece of ply wood and some rope hanging from the rafters, then sit the kayak on it. That being said, I have stored mine in the garage for years without issue. |

i'd have it on my living room wall and let the cat sleep in it. :rotf2: good place to hide the candy and a great conversation piece. :grins: |

It's fine stored outdoors Larry. Best to put it on it's side, but the way you have it supported, it'll be okay. Just cover it with a poly tarp from O.S. Job Lot. I didn't even cover mine last year. The problems I had with my kayak were not related to cold or UV light. |
