Why isn't every job paid for by taxes listed publically
 

so that each and every person who wants or needs a job for whatever reason can apply for it. Why is it that so many jobs miraculously appear when a friend of an elected official is unemployed? The jobs you get after taking a civil service exam are the only ones publically listed. You can check on those open positions and file for those positions through civil service. But what about all those positions that pay huge money? I find it incredible that no one person or group has ever filed suit to make all positions within state government or any governmental entity within the commonwealth where that position is paid for through taxes has not questioned this. There are so many public agencies both public and semi-public (the so-called quasi public agencies), where untold number of people are stuffed, that no one even knows about. The former mayor of Brockton, Yunits, controls one of those agencies that receives $1,000,000.00 a year and I believe the agency has in its employ six people. Thats a pretty big piece of pie to slice up seven ways. The are probably 100 of these quasi-public agencies littered all over the commonwealth. The state department of public works in the early 70's use to employ 60,000 people, that number is way down now, but that was just one agency, what about all of them put together. What if they, the commonwealth were forced to list every job and the salary. For no one to question this, is to say that these elected officials, and thier staff, all personally know the most qualified people for every position available. Where is the outrage?

Better yet, post the realized cost of each position - not just the salary.

The town I lived in laid-off 10 people a while back - 8 public works and two firefighters. The savings was $800,000 this year.

The realized cost should factor in salary, retirement benefits, overtime, average number of disability pensions, regular pensions, and benefits. The true cost of hiring someone for the public sector blows the mind.

There are far more than that on the payroll. This doesn't include all those hack hires by no means.

Look in the Globe this morning about the six figure additions to the dept. of trans.. They are not listed.

Look up the last name Yunits. Former mayor of Brockton. He is the one I mentioned as head of a group of six or seven people who run one these so-called quasi state agencies that have a budget of one million dollars. His name isn't there, so none of the others in the same boat are there.

Its all I could find, any help?

That is why a Govt. run HC program will break us while the public plans we have in place will be completely decimated and taken over by cronies to take care of the 2% uninsured that could be cared for under Medicaid.
