Sorry Red, I didn't mean to burst your bubble. You will find that the bars between the headstock and tailstock are weak and will flex when putting the wood under pressure as you tighten the tailstock. that's crap #1
The motor may not last very long, crap #2.
The switch will probably burn out opn you, crap #3. :(

My neighbor has one and after seeing and using many lathes, I decided on getting a medium duty lathe that will hold up over time. For hobby stuff, a light duty lathe may be fine for you.

I have the dubious distinction of owning "one of those pieces of crap" and it is that, crap!
Plastic pullies, handle and a crappy switch. Theres more flex in that thing than a bowl of jello. Have I mentioned yet its crap?

Light to medium duty.

I bought a used grizzly to see if I liked turning or not and it is not too bad for the money. My next lathe will be full size though, I want something ya dont have to clamp down. I think BM may have a grizzly (may be wrong too) and a Jet. The grizzly turns wood fine, I have turned maple, fir,poplar, yellow pine, and redwood:D. The machine handled everything fine, 1/3 HP motor, cast iron bed, hard to beat for the price.
