What is taking so long for the President to make his decission on more troops to Afganistan?

Is he hurting troop morale?

Colin Powell says Obama should not be pressured from the left or right.

he's trying hard to also please to many other countries .

that and our intelligence operation is changing rapidly
making for a very fluid situation.

Had a meeting yesterday and made the hard decision to not make a decision at the present time.

I think he's under pressure from Hilary and the Dept of State to find a way to side-step the Karzai administration. Hilary Clinton's been openly critical of the Afghan government for quite a while - she very much dislikes Karzai.
What they really wanted was to see Karzai depart, but that did not happen. Don't be surprised if Karzai gets shot soon.

to set up bases over there
