What A scam!!!

Looking for a van staal on ebay at a good price? Well READ CAREFULLY whenever you are buying anything online... This guy posted a VS275 for a buy it now price of $250.00 Someone might jump on it quick... but if you read the description carefully, you are buying a PHOTOGRAPH of a VS275... I heard of this years ago with big screen TV's "great picture...tv for sale... "

If you are unlucky enough to jump on it without actually reading the whole thing, you are STUCK, because it's 100% legal... Deceptive, yet legal... Sooner or later someone will buy it, and when they complain, he'll just point out the description the unlucky buyer skipped in his haste to scoop up a VS at a good price. The photo is very misleading and intentionally has no frame to blend in with other ads... The main heading when you do a search says nothing about being a photo... Scandalous!!!!

Van Staal 275 - eBay (item 130346980599 end time Nov-30-09 19:24:53 PST)

You be the judge... (I may be mistaken, but something smells worse than 3 day old bunker left in the sun on this one!!!)

Yeah, you are right, but remember Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware). He says it's a picture. He sounds pissed about the price of a VS and states he can sell anything he wants for any price he wants.

You should never bid on anything on eBay without reading the description in detail before you bid.

Yup report it...

He/She needs the word "Photo" in the title or subtitle or ebay will pull it.

For both the sellers and buyers protection...

A seller could be charged with Mail/Internet fraud because of a bad selling title... The law varies from state to state...

Looks like the item was relisted with the word photograph in it. :smash: I read the feedback and the seller has a 96 percent rating. These are tough times. Sometimes people do desperet things.

Weak. At best, someone that doesn't give a bleep, at worst a real con.

May you not catch a fish for a year.

Crafty Angler 11-24-2009 08:35 AM

May he catch 2-5 in a Federal penitentiary for interstate mail fraud and spend his time playing husband-and-wife with a 300# inmate named Bubba...:whackin:

Hey, I dunno - call me old school, I guess...

RIROCKHOUND 11-24-2009 08:46 AM

I dunno... the description is pretty clear.
Maybe he was just trying to make a joke and just looks like an un-funny douche?

would have sucked if someone bought it though....

ecduzitgood 11-24-2009 09:37 AM

Under check completed it shows he has sold two...SCUMBAG!
Go to see other items under the 'seller info' then hit completed on the left.
Nov. 23rd I hope they stop their payment.

my take on this is yes the guy is wrong but, if you are that stupid that is your own problem. if it sounds to go to be true it usually is

Good call. I buy a few things on ebay now and then and have not made any colossal mistakes. You know the saying--"if it looks too good to be true..."
BTW the listing has been pulled

Backbeach Jake 11-25-2009 07:11 PM

This whole country is playing a big game of "GOTCHA", there's a scam artist on every street corner and in every bank or business. There are exceptions, but they're very rare. Sad. Read and understand before you lay down the dough..

ivanputski 11-25-2009 07:36 PM

Glad some of you acted and sent messages... as long as people are willing to shine the light on the cockroaches in the world, they will continue to scatter... I'm sure thats why he pulled the listing...
