Tick Bite
 

Well I got a tick bite 12 days ago ,pulled the little SOB out and watched it and yes it after 12 days a Bulls Eye called the Doc.
Had my blood work for other symptoms and positive for lyme.
I'm on a 21 day antibiotic thingamajig , feeling kind of tired and achy
I'm glad I didn't disregard the bite and caught it early
So all who frequent the woods and to all whose children play in the leaves CHECK YOURSELFS

I remember one day on Block Island a few years ago where I caught three deer ticks on me.

Growing up in Iowa I didn't hear much about Lyme, looking at this map I now see why...

I have had hundreds of Ticks on me the last few years. Knock on wood I have caught them all or most on my clothes. Worst was last spring, both the wife and I and the kids all had dozens. They freak me out.

Cape Ann is a heaverly infested area. It is basically the reason for me to give up hunting in Mass. I repeatedly remind my grand children to check for ticks every day. Their property abutts the woods where there is a large presents of deer. When not caught in time you can get very sick and it could be debilitating.

Yes , we are at ground zero for Lymes disease. I have a friend who had to be treated 3 times in two years.

Good thing you caught it early. I had an employee whom ignored a tick bite least year and developed belspalsie (spelling?) the dr. thought he had a stroke and spent 2 weeks in the hospital misdiagnosed then took 2 months to recover to full strength. Ive been told its easily missed in lab tests.

I had the walk in pull one out of my back 2 weeks ago. It was in the same exact location I had one pulled from earlier this year (weird) After seeing this post I checked again and no bulls eye (thank god). From what I have been told the testing is real tough. GL the meds should work fine saying you caught it quick.
