Nothbar Bottledarter
Any of you guys switch out the 3/0 for 4/0?
|
what size bottle? i usually use the 4/0 on the 3oz and a 3/0 on the 2.5 oz. just usually what i use and have found to swim best.
|
how do those swim. I always thought they looked weird. Cant sway from my super strike.
|
Rigged mine up with 4/0 VMC's. The 3/0's just looked too small to me.

i didn't notice they were only 3/0 until i took some brandy new ones out of the package, you guys are right tho they look better with 4/0.
|
I think they swim a little better in the surf at a slow retrieve ith a pair of 3/o's but I have some rigged with 4/o's which i think work better in current or heavy surf because they dig more. I'm talking abot the wood version
On the plastic darter I leave the hooks on that come with it. I don't load these either because all I think that does is make them weigh as much as the wooden versions I already have. Maybe I'll do that after they're destroyed. Gotta love the plast versions at the price. Ian, Get some plastic ones. They're completely different the the ss darter. |
on the 2.5oz darter, the package recommends 4/0.
saw a few plastic ones at m&d's, man they look really nice, and the price makes them even nicer:) |
Both the current wood and plastic NB bottle darters are quite a bit narrower than his original version.
|
I like 4/0 on them.
