My New Years Resolution is to give Back Beach Jake his New Years Resolution - a better job!!!

May through October, "work" at day, fish at night, live in your family house there, have the wife visit on weekends, during the offseason job yourself out to some of the local shops who always need a good hand!

You know my number.

PRBuzz 12-31-2009 08:10 AM

Ah yes, I remember the old days.....

I did so many drugs when I got out of the service it's a wonder I have any brain cells left.

Simply put: Resolutions are doomed to fail. It's in our very nature.
It has to do with the rebellious streak we all have when told that we can't do something. We hav to try and prove that wrong.
When we were children we HATED being told that we couldn't do something. We always wanted to know why?

I decided some 20+ years back that I was going to change that.
Remember that most resolutions are based on the premise that you WON'T do something, meaning that you have to try and NOT do that thing for 12 months. Some resolutions don't make it through the first hour of the new year let alone 12 months.

My "resolution" is the same every year: That I will DO something that I haven't done before. This gives me 12 months in which to succeed, and takes away any guilt or regret of failure because there is no strict guidline, no "rules" or "regulations" to be sucessful. I can do ANYTHING, no matter how simple or complex, no matter how cheap or expensive. Last year it was learning to fish from a kayak.

People may laugh and say it's silly, but I haven't failed since I adopted this approach, and I'm a better person for it.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR" to all!

Always be grateful, think of others first, take better care of my physical self and try to do the next right thing.

If you can hit the gym every morning at 4:45 , you deserve to live forever!

This year my resolution is to be fearless like I was when I was younger. No more worrying about tomorrow. Live for today and let tomorrow take care of itself! :uhuh:
