I listened to Zogby and Rasmussen and they were split...3-1 dems vs. repubs registered, crazy polling and I hope he pulls it out but things like Patrick Kennedy give me reservation...just being practical..I can hear Teddy howling from the beyond...

I stayed out of this A. because I needed a break from the forum, and B. I don't vote in Mass.
In all honesty he seems like a good gut check for the left to get it in gear and start working on their message and mission. If it kills the health care bill, do you guys see any chance at reform, or will it just become a string of filibusterers after filibusterers and bickering among the parties... we are moving more and more away from working across party lines to a counting game of who has how many chits.

You guys said it last year to those of us that voted for BHO... Be careful what you wish for... if it backfires, the blow back could be bad for the right...

Dems are already talking of a new health care reform that fixes what's broken. This is a win/win for America.

I have no problem with that, and in MA would have had a hard time justifying Coakley myself.

I hope that is true. I want the HC that was campaigned for: Universal Care available for minors, and serious reform to make it more affordable for everyone else...

Exactly! Coakley was very mis-informative with just about everything, but one thing that really irked me is how she stated that Brown was completely against Health Care Reform.

On the other hand, the single biggest item that had me unquestionably supportive of Brown is that he supports HC Reform, but not the current proposal at all. He recognizes (as I have been stating for months) that the current proposal is only an expansion of care, and not a method to reduce costs.

It seems like the Dems are starting to realized that as well.

I also appreciate that Reid has pledged not to hold up Brown's confirmation and they *will not* rush the HC vote in order to get it in before Brown is confirmed.

Maybe politicians can learn.

mediocre turnout... I think this whole thing would have had a different outcome if Cappuano had won the primary... would have been close..but I think Cappy would have pulled it out..

Coakley also laid back after the primary and did nothing...when she finally got involved she went negative... and too negative..
Kudos to Brown for running a fairly clean campaign, and not throwing down in the Mud with her...

Even Crazy Old Dem leader Howard Dean does not want what this dealed up effed up version of so called reform has to offer...wants it dead and buried and do over please.

Scott has 2 years.... and if he has any smarts...he will truly listen to his constituents...not his handlers... McCain..and Romney...

Brown would be well served to remember all the coffee shops he stopped the "truck" at...and what the folks truly had to say...

but he better remember the folks that actually wear that jacket, and drive them trucks...they usually stay home in droves...but will come out and vote when peesed off...
if he don't deliver, they will throw him in the back of that truck in 2 years, and haul him off...

the fact he is a NRA and GOAL member, with the fear factor of loss of gun rights helped him immensely...but the press don't give that any play at all...

I fail to see the correlation between military experience and qualifications for public office. Joining the military is one of the most honorable things a person can do, but I don't think it necessarily qualifies them as a better candidate than someone else.

If Obama had served in the Marines, would that change anyone's opinion of him?

Funny, I was going to say the exact same thing. The US Military is one of the best leadership training grounds there is.
