looks like fun

it wouldn't stink ... i would do it ... and a little further south behind cape canaveral, you can find those same fish tailing and easily accessible with fly ... i did not know they had a good redfish bite in the winter off the outer banks

I'll make a tee time before I stand in that picket line.
Why don't they spread out.
Thats why I play in the dark, just me, I tend to be anti social I guess.

Thinking the same thing Makai. That mob gave me a panic attack. I don't see that many people in a week during the times I fish.:devil2:

Boy, they travel light.... I don't think I saw a single plug bag or belt.....

Yeah, I could use some of that right now too.

Is that an invitation Andy? Because that is way up there on my to do list. Watched it on TeeWee last week, but the guy was spin fishing. Starting the mental drooling now. February looms! Bob H.

Fishing

Pretty awesome - I just drove past that area about 20 hours ago.

The first minute pretty effectively articulates what's wrong with the "laymen posing as experts" when it comes to stock health issues. Somehow 2 weeks of good fishing prove that this guy knows more than marine biologists and the marine biologists need to listen up.

Needmore Salts 01-25-2010 10:04 AM

i prefer no crowds....guess thats why we all do what we do....

Crafty Angler 01-25-2010 10:52 AM

Yeah, it does look good at this time of year

On the other hand, I doubt those guys are aware that those small reds carry a bacteria that has been shown to cause significant neurological damage

The first signs are a desire to fish butthole to belly-button in groups of no less than 50 and tendency to start talking like Gomer Pyle...:screwy:

Disclaimer: Yeah, okay, I've got 1st cousins in Florida who talk like that...and they're good folks even if they talk funny

You would WANT to stand in that picket line all day if it was with 20 good friends catching 20-30+# Bass every cast, with 30 knot winds in your face....

Trust me,,, that scenario would be the time of your life,,,,,:uhuh::uhuh::uhuh:

And if you were you would howl like a school girl too,,,,,,

Been there done that a bunch, I kinda go way back . We still spread out so we can enjoy the fish and not casting and fighting fish in each others way. Especially in big onshore winds. It's not like beach fish with no structure are stacked up in a 50 foot stretch of beach. Nothing attracts a fisherman like another fisherman hooked up.
Can't tell you how many times I would hook up, make "new" friends.
Move down the beach a bit for room, hook up, make " new "friends. Move down the beach again, for room, hook up . . . etc. . . etc.

Hell if we are snagged on the bottom from a boat people will come over to see what's going on. . . . it's nuts.

And some of the damn "new friends" just stick around and are still bothering you years later. :hidin:

Good point. Although, I've had a couple "next mornings" that almost didn't go so well. :yak5:

My comment was not so much based on the fishing but the camaraderie, literally having the opportunity to fish with good friends (not guys who just show up on the beach) who are all good anglers and enjoy something special,,,,,

Sometimes sharing with good friends can make for unforgettable events,,,,

that was all,,,,

Couldn't agree more, I am most fortunate to have had some fantastic fishing with very good people I am proud to call friends.:uhuh:
