I think you still need to register with the feds for 2010.

Going to this site, first thing I noticed was: "In 2010, R.I. anglers have the choice of using EITHER theFederal Angler Registry or the R.I. saltwater license. Both will be accepted."

Since I'm mainly a MA fisherman and I already have the Federal Angler Registry, I'm OK to fish RI waters, too, correct?

You should be, but please don't take my word for it. There is a link from the NH F&G department that leads to a questionair about who does and does not need a license. Since I have a HMS permit for tuna I don't need a state license in NH.

Lets see how many people think that since they have the saltwater registry permit they don't need the HMS pelagic (tuna) permit. I don't believe that it works both ways. Statement is state neutral, not just NH.

I've got both, I'll show them anything they want this year especially since the SW registry is free. Next year I have to buy the $10 MA SW plus the $20 HMS pelagic.

Thats one of those "don't leave home without it" things. One doesn't mean your covered for everything. You still need all the correct permits unless exempted and the pelagic permit satifies the state requirements where I fish which is Maine, NH and Mass.
