Ronnie what is that bulkhead cored with, balsa, plywood or a kind of foam?

Looks good, you'll like that allot better now. Too bad you couldn't get rid of the strong corner support and really open it up though the hardtop may be too heavy for that.

The hull is solid glass.
The top is laid up in a mold also but is balsa core.
Builder/finisher installs winterback, it's 3/4 plywood glassed over to 1in.
I'm going to have double swinging doors very similar to my Parker.

Looks good. That will make running back to stick a fish so much easier now.

Go ahead and kill the port side while your at it - open the whole thing up.

Canvas drops that roll up still keep the pilothouse nice and warm in the cold months if you have a bus heater.

Thats a good decision. Every sport plants themselves in the door opening while on charter. They are always in the way.

Port side will stay. Inside there is a built in tackle station that I def don't want to loose.
There will be a double set of doors very similar to the set up I did on my Parker (pics)
Electronics, gear and other valuables still need to lock it up.
Doing a few more projects also.
-New rudder, newer design that should give me a bit of additional speed, but more importantly better control running at full speed.
Adding more hatches to utilize some unused below deck storage/fish hold/gill net storage.
-New pair of custom scuppers
-Trim tab trick that Maine boat builders do to bring the bow down while underway.

How about some detail on those custom scuppers. What kind of check are they using to prevent backflow into the cockpit?

how do you like fishing from a down east set-up? I always loved how those boats look but wonder about how they fish. Do you find yourself constricted by draft? Obviously trolling would be awesome. Do you do much light tackle or fly?

I like the open back with curtains but locking up the gear is probably more important. Nice boat BTW.

Fishingfreak & I did some door mock up installing today.
Need to decide on lock hardware & fine tune the fit.
Then disassemble everything for sanding & gel coat then reassembly.

New scuppers fabricated and glassed in.

Looks awesome Ronnie. Is the glass going to stick good to that plastic scupper material. Is it PVC or something the resin will stick to?

PVC, took a grinder to it 1st, won't separate !
Both 2 part apoxied & glassed in !

looking good! I might have to do something like that?? I am installing new Yamaha 4 Stroke at 600+ pounds. Not sure how the boat is going to sit bin the water??

I need to cut another door in my PH as well. It will have to wait till next winter. Nice working with flat surfaces...mine have a knuckle in them. I like the metal frame alot!

Okumi plywood (high end, light weight & NOT cheap) glassed over.
The metal frame is stainless angle, tig welded at the corners.

Fabricated the scuppers. Doors are 5in exhaust flappers. (same as my exhaust pipe)

Fit is all fine tuned.
Locks & latches all mounted.
Now will take it all apart again for some sanding & then gelcoat.

Fishingfreak & I finished up the doors today.
Changed out the new rudder and a few other things got done.
Even made time to go and install registration & boat name decals for the new owner of my Parker !
Taking tomorrow of and heading up to Maine for the Maine boat builders show.
