it's almost time.

i figure i'll wait till next week and rip off the shrink. it looks like we're going to start having some warmer days. i've got a few gremlins to chase down and bunch of little stuff i've been ignoring for a few seasons. then let the mechanic give it a once over. buy a seatow membership. find a nice warm day near the end of march and go look for some flatties in the harbor. it's so close, just a few weeks away. what's everybody else planning for a first trip?

striperman36 03-01-2010 09:05 PM

its gonna snow, good luck

MrHunters 03-01-2010 09:13 PM

i like niko's outlook better! I can't wait to pull the tarp of either. Got some painting and buffing to do this year.

Raider Ronnie 03-01-2010 09:20 PM

1st week of april for me

crash 03-01-2010 10:14 PM

I've been running a small electric space heater while I'm under the tarp doing the wiring. Risers/manifolds/exhaust in another 2 weeks, just looking for a good deal on the parts. I think I'm gonna pay someone to do the shaft seal, it scares the crap out of me.

macojoe 03-02-2010 12:58 AM

Next week we pull the cover and start the rewire and then the repower, hope to be in before the end of April

just make sure you take the rope off the prop before you launch her this year Paul. Hopefully I'll be with you this year instead of just getting the 6 am phone call. Boss is gonna give me some more days this year I think. Talked to him about it today.

Took the cover off today, gave it a nice cleaning. getting ready to replace hardware, wiring and wax (never thought I'd say that). gone stop procrastinating

Boat's been ready but my tow vehicle died, intake coolant leak. Looks like I'm pulling the motor apart on this warm upcoming weekend.

I wont uncover until the last week of March, get her up to MTC for spring comission and then in the water 3rd week of April. Bass fishing starts for me the first week of May.

wrench 03-03-2010 11:52 AM

Might think twice about using MTC

RIJIMMY 03-03-2010 11:54 AM

I've used him a bunch of times and he has been great.

BigBo 03-03-2010 12:01 PM

MTC has done right for me. I've recommended Tom to several people.

He did a lousy job shrink wrapping my boat this past fall and I had to wrestle with it all winter!

He was great to me until I had a problem, but seems to have a hard time dealing with the fact he screwed up and will not correct his mistake.

I am the last one to post anything bad about someone, but when they don't respond to a request to fix their mistake the gloves are off :fury: :fury:

Tom took care of me last year when my motor %$%$%$%$ the bed. It took longer than I would have liked and I made a bunch of calls and showed up a few times to get an ETA only to get punted but I dropped it off at their absolute busiest time of the year and Tom was going balls to the wall to get stuff done. Once he got around to me he was awesome to deal with and he took care of me big time when it came to the final bill so overall I was satisfied. I can understand your frustration though but I got to say I would and have referred him with no problems. No place is perfect but I was happy with the end result.
