water in basement

Completely sick of it after this one. :wall:I always had a problem in the back room under an addition but now its coming in up through the actual floor in the middle of my basement!
I seriously might spend the money on one of those expensive french drain places to come out and put an end to this.
Any one else spent some quality time with the shop vac and a garden hose today?

the waitress @ friendly's

told us this whole story....... yesterday

seems as though the town had placed the run off drain
right on her property and it didn't work at all

for three years she pleaded with them to fix it

Finally she spent her entire vacation week
installing a perferated drain basket deep in the ground
filled with rock that was fed by two lengths of
black perferated hose....

now she has a dry basement

Waders on....

Pump running in the shop now..... 3" at one end. All ground water.... We got 8" of rain yesterday?:wall:

I have one pump in the basement shop keeping up with the water table that is coming up through the floor, but it is on constantly. Just have to wait til it stops and the water table goes down.
Four pumps are out at clients' houses, one small one left, and a NIB sumppump, if anyone nearby needs it. Close to 10 inches here so far.....

french drain

one of the first things i did at my house 2 years ago. perf pipe deep along the foundation, filled with crushed stone. got kind of a dry well and the drainage pipe pulling water away from the house. pipe runs out to my driveway. the drain is bubbling constantly.

pretty easy to do with a friend on your own. don't bother with a company. they'll hit you hard for 3K.

I live near the Salisbury Brook, when the ground water table comes up like this, it's "man the pumps" time.
