If you bought a lawnmower on/after 1994 read this post

Go to www.lawnmowerclass.com an see if you qualify for a rebate or an extension on a mower warranty. It seems that a guy in Arizona figured out that many of the lawnmower engines, while being sold as being a specific horsepower, did not meet the as advertised HP.

  • Because we are all scrambling to get $35?
  • Because lawyers are coming up with ways to make coin that crush companies in the process?
  • Or because the evil corporations were stating the engine made 5HP instead of 4.2?
Is this class action suit really worth the jobs it will cost? Tecumseh already went out of business a few years ago. Who is next?

Exactly why I have never responded to class action stuff. I always figured the only people that I'm helping are the damn lawyers who I'm sure are getting more that $35!

Actually, I believe that the companies settle and the lawyers fees are taken out the settlement $. Doesn't make a differnce if you respond or not, the lawyers are getting paid and there may be even a chance, that they get paid more if there are fewer respondants.

Why is he "scum" b/c you don't like him? Its must stink to be so miserable that you label someone scum b/c you don't like him.

I bought a lawnmover that I was told had a certain horsepower. If the companies lied about the horespower, its seems like the corporations are scum. Thanks to the lawyers for pointing this out and risking their own money in suing and getting me some cash back. I'm glad that the companies have to pay out lawyers fees and I'm getting $ back after getting ripped off.

If you want to label him scum for cheating, that's a different issue.

-it does seem like many corporations are "scum"
-generally speaking: lawyers do not risk their own money
-once the companies pay fees, its our turn to pay (every time we do business with that company)

He's scum for cheating and for making his money extorting companies in the name of protecting John Q Public.

If the companies didn't settle, the lawyers would loose any $ and time put into the cases. If there was no case, they wouldn't settle.

If the company was honest from the get-go this wouldn't be happening to them. If it weren't for events like this that hold companies accountable for their lies, why should any company be honest?

WESTPORTMAFIA 04-13-2010 07:37 PM

What if you bought a lawnmower and the check was for $500,000 instead of $35? Maybe a change of plans? I received the post card today and a riding mower is a check for $75. I'm on it as they are already sued.
