HP L1706 LCD screen failure issue.

Keep an eye out if you own one. There happens to be a chronic problem with this model. It appears that it comes with a bad component from the factory. The screen will start to "Black-Out" on you, the power LED light will steadily blink but it will never wake up. HP has been made aware of this issue and supposedly plans on respecting any complaints as it's a well known problem.

Bad capacitors failing? I have repaired 4 FPD2195 Gateways with this problem. Picking them up for $50 and fixing them was good for me, sucks for the people that spent 300-450 on these new (pretty high end at the time - and still good today).

A lot of LCD monitors have this issue. Will be nice to see HP stepping up.

Same with the L1906s too. We have about 75 of them here and after about 2 1/2 yrs they failed with the same problem one after another. We have about 45 left.
