Nice pic, very informative. Look at the rip line coming off the point by the lighthouse. Look how fast the beach drops off.

mrmacey 03-02-2003 06:55 AM

part of that beach would be a choice spot and for what reason i dont know where that is im just trying to learn how to fish a beach what to look for ect! if you were coming in by boat would it be different as to what you look for!! thanks

Southernmost point of the Land of Milk and Honey, where this Mike once hailed from :D

Well, southernmost mainland point, now that I think of it.

milo 03-02-2003 10:54 AM

yup tat I pulled out the magnifying glass and I can see it now, just to the left of the lighthouse:laughs:

Slipknot 03-02-2003 11:55 AM

I don't see any hill:confused:

I do see the orange cap.:smash:

Mrmacey, if you are there in a boat, work that area by the point but far enough out so not to piss off the surfguys. There have been a few fish caught there over the years.

I wish I lived closer to there too.

mrmacey 03-02-2003 12:31 PM

I THINK IF I LOOK CLOSE

enough at that pic there is a boat there i could be 100 yds off the point and wouldnt bother the surf casters most cant throw that far whats the average 40 to 60 yds for most!!!:D

Slipknot 03-02-2003 01:29 PM

I had coffee this morning with a guy who throws 800' seriously. I have seen him throw 750'.

the rip for the boats is out 2-300 yards anyway.

mrmacey 03-02-2003 02:12 PM

1 yd =3 ft

100 yds = 3ooft allmost 3 football feilds he could have gotten out there down narragansett that time!! whats the length across the ditch at scusset to the fish dock there, he can pick guys off over there!!:D

Mike P 03-02-2003 02:24 PM

mr macey---Dave can throw across the Canal. Maybe not at the far east end (it's probably close to 900' wide down there), but in places where it's only 600' wide, he's done it.

Might be a little different throwing a plug from the rocks near the lighthouse, tho ;)

mrmacey 03-02-2003 02:33 PM

my first

couple times down there last year i was throwing 4 oz sinkers that were making it over there with out my line attached i was trying to make the middle i said ill do it this time came from way down south as hard as i could that weight shot off like a rocket WITH A LOUD "SNAP"ppphewwwwwww!! my weight was gone never seen it land!! lol!!:D

bassmaster 03-02-2003 03:55 PM

is that nauset Beach:smash:
I see the HAT

Tattoo 03-02-2003 05:24 PM

When the wind is in your face there , you only have to cast 100 feet.

DaveS 03-02-2003 05:46 PM

Sometimes not even that far Tattoo:D , I've caught bass there on eels 20 feet from the beach. I think I see the orange hat too:eek: , you better leave my bass alone:smash: . Oh well, a few more weeks and we can all give it a try, I just hope I can make it that long. BM will be in a straight jacket by then cuz of da no fish situation he's going thru, and there will be plenty of bass and plugs for all of us. Actually this year, I'm gonna spend alot more time there than in years past. Due to a promotion at work I work Sunday night , Monday night , and tuesday night from 7Pm -7Am, every Wednesday I'll be driving up for 4 nights on that beautiful stretch of heaven:happy: , I cant wait.

Slipknot 03-02-2003 06:33 PM

I caught my first bass on one of my homemade needles there on the first cast with it ever, the bass hit it 15' from the rocks. Habs told me to retire that plug. I did , even though it's ugly, but it was the right thing that night PARROT.

John, If I lived in Westerly I'd be out there every night of the week bro. That walk dont bother me in the slightest, and even if the fish dont chew that night there's always that thought in my head that "maybe this next cast will be the cast to last a lifetime".
