Worm Hatch?

I've been doing some reading on fishing the worm hatch and it sounds like it's a beginning of May kind of thing. With all of the warm temperatures recently, does anyone know if it has started in Ninigret yet? I'd like to give it a shot from my kayak so if anyone has any words of wisdom I would sincerely appreciate it. Obviously I can't cover the entiretly of the pond in a kayak in one evening, is there a historic pattern as to which part starts first or tricks for spotting the activity?

Thanks in advance.

This tends to happen in muddy/dark bottom areas that heat up quick. I can't remember the temperature to look for, but i am sure it is findable. Also, just so you know it is not a hatch, but actually the worms spawning.

It's going off in North Kingstown right now, this coming Thursday should be a big night for wormage...and hopefully a few nice linesiders.

Don't these normally coincide with a full/new moon?
