Hard to believe it's been 40 years.
Still the greatest ever, certainly the greatest hockey picture ever !

Yeh, I was one - never did see it live or if I did, not that I could recall. Still great moment that I wish I had seen, kinda like see Ted play ball, or Russell with the Celts. A chance to watch the greats live - doing great things in sports.

I was only 8, but still remember it . Biggest moment in NE sports in my lifetime IMO.

That bruins team of early '70's was as big as the beatles around here.

Wow I can't believe 40 years ago!! They are unveiling a statue of Bobby scoring this goal at the garden today, about time !!!

my idol. I still have the goal bruins record, although very scratched. They did a show on him last nite on NESN i think it was . Great show.

There was a show on the 70's bruins and what the did for hockey in this region. 700% increase in rinks built after that era, everyone wanted to be a Big Bad Bruin.

I was still hooked up to an umbilical cord when Orr made that leap, but as soon as I could, I held those rabbit ears so Dad could watch the games in crystal clear black and white.
