Dice-K

Why can't he look like that all the time....he pitched awesome last night. Best I've seen him pitch in a coupleof years.

If he can keep it up and Beckett can pull his head outta his azz...things might start looking up

Dice-K looked pretty darn good on Sat. night against a really good lineup. When he stops nibbling and locates his pitches, he has great stuff. Hopefully he continues pitching like that for the rest of the season.

Boy, I'm sure glad they decided to keep Wakefield around.
Kind of makes you wonder if the pitching is as solid as they would like us to believe?

BigFish 05-24-2010 02:54 PM

Dice-K's pattern........a few stellar outings then a bunch of blowouts!

The Dad Fisherman 05-25-2010 05:14 AM

Actually his usual pattern is 5 innings of edge of your seat pitching and then squirming out of it 70% of the time.....the fact he's going into the 7th inning is an improvement.

Buchholtz has been looking sharp lately as well as Lester.....pitching is starting to come around.....only 2 games in back of the Yanks right now.

BigFish 05-27-2010 10:29 PM

Told ya! He blew up tonight!!! 8 walks!!!!:wall:

The Dad Fisherman 05-28-2010 05:13 AM

No......Told YOU :hee:....only gave up 3 runs...in 5 innings.....THAT is vintage Dice-K

See, 5 innings of edge of your seat pitching that he squirmed out of all night...until the 5th

stcroixman 05-28-2010 07:56 AM

That was the real Dice K last night. The one who pitched in Philly was an imposter.

When is his contract up?
It can't be soon enough. I had hoped he would develop into the pitcher they said he could be, but he turned into a multi-million dollar "white elephant".
Then you have a guy like Wakefield, who pitched his entire career for the team, and has pulled their a$$es out of the fire on more than one occaision, and they throw him in the pen like they were doing him a favor by "keeping him around".
Why don't they give him Matzusaka's salary and throw HIM in the pen, and give Makefield the starting job?

You got a "Plan B"...:wall:

And don't get me wrong.......I'm a big Wakefield fan, but when he's bad....he's brutal

stcroixman 05-29-2010 06:03 AM

Guys, Wakefield is 43 this coud be his last season too. He is no longer a consistent pitcher either.

Lackey needs to step it up. Remember him?

And he was in infielder (3b) with marginal skills that wasn't going to stick around too long until he came up with that knuckler!
