With the recent plunge in oil prices to below 68 bucks/barrel we should be back to less than 2.25 and 250 /gallon for gas and diesel should be lower too! They always lag the drop but seem to have no problem gapping up quick when oil rises (even though the fuel in their tank was cheaper a week ago!):fury:

Topping off a few weeks ago before launch didnt hurt quite as bad this year. I had to store with half a tank full.

2 years ago hurt at $4+ a gallon, even on land.

If you are talking over the road fuel I either see a quick rise in the price when the barrel of gas goes up. The gas station that I go to does a high volume of pumping gas so if the price of a barrel goes down I see a difference in a day or two. I do not get gas in the city that I live in, it is always 10-15 cents more per gallon.

If you are talking dockside the price stays the same as last year until they get the new load and then it seems to go up. Dockside here for 93 octane is 3.50 a gal.. I got it over the road for 3.01 the other day and I buy 30 gals. at a time for the boat.

well thank goodness BP will give them an excuse to keep prices up

Gas stations make more money when prices fall than when they rise. They pay less/gallon and then wait for the neighbor to drop prices to gain more local market share. Sooo frustrating...

That's exactly what I was thinking, and also isn't this the time of the year we usually get the shaft because they have to switch from their winter blend to the summer blend?

The prices should be coming down, I agree, but they haven't yet. $2.759 and holding at the Mobil station around the corner from my house.
