Allergies
Thought I was going to go unscathed this year till they started sunday .
:wall: |
Last 2 days everything has turned yellow! Think this is the 2nd go round this year.
|
I hear you. Usually I'm a mess starting early-May. Thought to myself "maybe this year won't be so bad", then last week came. Allergies still seem to be a little better than years past so I can't complain...
Have only needed to drug up a few times, instead of drugs everyday along with eye drops and benadryl before bed. |
With the way this year started, with an early spring with the flooding, the trees are having an explosive flowering session this year. That added with the fact that a lot more tree species are having overlapping blooms, and we have what will be considered one of the worst seasons for spring allergies.
I was out last night and got caught in a pollen "downpour" or "pollen-storm" by a truer description. It looked like a fog bank rolled in over the pond I was at. I was loading my gear when I first noticed it, and then I took my first breath and gakked up a lung. My eyes are still itchy right now, even after flushing them and my sinuses out last night. The rain we had last night helped clean the air somewhat, but as long as the trees are still flowering, we'll still be suffering. |

Today is a tough one. Claritan no helpy.
|
I used Clatiritan and it never helped me. I now take Zyrtec (Citrizine) 90 pills is $11 at the pharmacy at South Shore med center in Norwell,I also use 1 12hr sudafed with it. You should also try Ponaris nasal emollient, Nasa astronauts use it, and when I get a stuffed up passage it opens it right up.
|
Pseudoephedrine (the original main ingredient in Sudafed) is the absolute best stuff for sinuses.
The problem is that the Gobmint makes drug stores keep anything with Pseudoephedrine behind the counter now, you need a license to buy it (in MA they actually scan the license and put you in a database) and have to be 18+... all because meth labs *could* use it to make meth - so drug companies came out with an alternative that could be out in the aisles but is inferior. I've been an allergy sufferer my whole life and the best product I've found for me is the Lortadine/Pseudoephedrine combo... and on the absolute worst days I go the benadry/pseudoephedrine mix. |
I started weezing a couple of weeks. Chest rattling every night. Finally went to the doc. Got sick as a dog the next day. Went to doc just in time. Pine poollen is the worst I have seen it since I was a kid.

then again
your merely treating the symptoms
and NOT effecting a cure the trick is to desensitize yourself to pollen by eating the NON wind blown kind Quote: Pollen gathered by bees is superior to that obtained directly from flowering plants. The bees are extremely discriminate about selecting the best pollen from the millions of grains that are present. Of these, only two types are found, namely, anemophile pollen grains (which are not collected by bees, and produce allergic reactions) and entomophile pollen grains (which are collected by bees, and possess greater nutrient content). ~ In actuality, entomophile pollen grains have been employed in the successful treatment of airborn pollen allergies. |
