F'n trash

sucked up a plastic bag, and over heated my 90 johnson yesterday on the way back in from thieves ledge with my wife and 5 yo on the boat. About 3/4 of a mile east of Boston light. Engine would not start right back up, but did after 20 minutes but would not idle without throttle, thank god for unlimited sea towing from Boat us, got towed into the ramp, hopefully the boat will fire up now, but I need a fuel filter and mount first :smash:

So in short throw away your damned trash correctly it not only ruins the environment, but other peoples days...:wall:

wow that sucks Bill

ya take the wife and the kid for a ride and then
somethin weird like this happens....

But hey , the most important thing is your all safe
and sound
with a little frustration and some repairs
for you to do....

that's what's important in the big picture.

Those plastic grocery store bags are the worst. They suspend themselves a couple feet below the surface. Not a good feeling esp with the family aboard.

Bill, thanks for coming over before that and saying hello.

Sure thing, you have a nice setup. While we were drifting, we netted a second bag and like you said floating a couple of feet below the surface.

Hopefully the motor will start with issues, up until that moment she ran like a champ.

Raven I hear you, I was very glad that it was flat out there and everyone is ok.

Those grocery type plastic bags are the worst, where my slip is sometimes I have to idle around to wait for the bridge to open and you can see this trash floating just beneath the surface, I have been lucky so far.
You may want to check your impeller to see if you have any damage to the vanes from heating up.
