Fishing Cape Ann

Mackerel have been spotty lately off of the breakwater between red nun and groaner, chumming & jigging instead of trolling may be better.

Some nice striped bass are being caught outside the breakwater. Fish 30 plus pounds are being taken. There are also some nice bass being taken fishing around the wharfs and rocky shoreline in the outer harbor.

Fresh herring are hard to come by the big mid water and siene boats are not finding the herring. There is frozen herring at the state pier #50lb. box approx. 16-18 bucks, Three lantens on the way to pier has frozen baits #25lbs. 20 bucks. Gas station on Essex Ave. has same as Three lanterns. Best to use salt water to thaw as you head out to fish.

Found more consistent mac up off of back shore on Sat. But not bass with them. Not a whole lot happening up in the Bay.
