This has definatly been a wierd year. With reports of Orcas on the bank and amount of Tuna near shore. The amount of sea herring and the fact that macks are still around where they shouldn't be. Bass still pushing north as some others push south. I my self caught a grey trigger off of Oak Bluffs a couple days ago and seen another one caught.....I think its going to be interesting....So where are my bonito and albies? I want them here now lol

The trigger was full of lice

Any of you guys find this year to be a little odd so far?

LOL take it you know from experience lol

BigFish 07-03-2010 07:15 PM

No?? Thats why I ask?? Curious what Roy was fishing for, and what he was using as bait??

capecodkid 07-03-2010 08:44 PM

Definitely think we'll see the first bonito caught after this heat wave passes through.

RoyL 07-04-2010 07:57 AM

No Way am I letting that thing bite me. They have some powerful jaws and rat like teeth for eating barnacles and mussles off rocks.

Larry, I caught it while fishing for scup and sea bass on a strip of squid.

I'm curious too Roy

maybe I can finally get a chance at a cobia from the shores of the canal, that would make my year:fishin:

Bones off some random east end LI beach yesterday.

Was plenty warm out on the water this morning.... A little tougher to jig up macks today. Also had first bluefish of the year in among the bass. Historically, when the blues come in, the macks disappear. Pogies reports are coming in, but are very thin. I haven't seen them, nor even set a net. So, if you haven't gotten out on a boat to fish live macks, you better do it, soon.......

was a beauty of a nite, morning out there but way hot as sun came up. A lot of dead air and the humidity really hasn't got here yet.

It has brought crappy T&W fishing for me so far on my side of the big pond. Sloooooow.

So hot the fish were probably just floating belly up....which explains how Sauerkraut's plug must have hit this one randomly in the head.

Go fluking!

Brought up 1/3 of BSB as a nice big Bluoooooo had a snack on the way to the surface.

LOL. Poor S-kraut.
I hoped to go out fluking on Wed. but with this heat and me in an uncovered tin boat frying pan I may not bother.

We got one 90miles south Saturday. 24lbs.
For the record, I sunk the gaff, but am not the angler pictured!
