York Beach is the most horrific terrain I have EVER fished. Worse than the moon.

I'll be up that way the first 2 weeks of August so I'll just miss you. It would have been nice to fish with someone from this board. Love York. I fish from Ogunquit to kennebunk mostly. But there is a tidal river in York, I don't know the name, that you have to really hike to get to (or boat) that I've had some fun on. I can't wait. I love it all, from fly fishing the tidal rivers to chunking and plugging off the rocks and beaches. Have a blast.

I remember that. You said you'd be happy if everyone made it to the truck without breaking anything. 5/0 not going to be up but will PM after work.

I just did an overnight up there last week. After taking the kiddies to York Animal kindom/park, I left the rods inside and drank like a fish instead. I saw one guy catching off the rocks by nubble light, but Short Beach, where I was staying had some folks fishing, but they were drowning worms/clams with no action.

Yeah those rocks are pretty sketchy on longs sands, actually those rocks in the corner/at the end of Long sands are pretty productive in the AM hrs.with bombers and plugs.

I'll post some Pics thats is if I get into-em:devil:

I WAS IN KENNEBUNK OVER THE FOURTH AND IT WAS DEAD. NOT 1 FISH AND I USUALLY PICK UP ATLEAST 20 SCHOOLIES. THERE WAS LOADS OF HARBOR POLLACK ATTACKING MY SWIVELS. HOPE IT PICKS UP FOR YOU.

Next time ------> live line the harbor pollack!

Are the Macs running now up there now?

Saltheart 07-20-2010 11:13 PM

Mac chunks. Little tiny macs cut into 2 to 3 inch lengths. Fish finder maybe 3 OZ maybe 4

Use a fly rod or put a teaser fly, small sand eel pattern or somesuch, above a your lure and cast around the rocks to catch some foot-long pollack. Bring a bait rod with a some balloons, liveline and watch the fun. Always done best on the high tide around the rocks.

If you find small pollack, I would stay on em till after dark and you know who probably will show up to eat em. Ill be up there for a week or so starting Aug. 8th. with some super secret access to primo rocks if anyone is around.
