Sailfish 218CC
Anbody got one or know anything about them. Looking at a 2007 with Yamaha 150 and trying to get some info. Will be used for fishing and cruising/tubing with the family.
Thanks in advance for any info you would like to share. |
Great riding but wet as hell.
|
You gotta look at a Sea Hunt. Clammer owns one. I own one. Driest boats on the water. I have an 18 CC and have been in 6' seas (not intentionally) and stayed dry. Also Yami 4 stroke is the balls. Warwick Cove to Newport and back on less than 3 gallons of gas. 4200 RPMs gives me 21 knots.

piemma,
Thanks for the info, Sea Hunt was the other boat I have been looking into, the Triton series either the 20 or 22. I have heard other good things about them. I did take the 21 Sailfish for a test ride in a 3' chop yesterday and didnt get 1 drop of water in the boat, also was very smooth, no pounding and a very soft re-entry. I'm told it is built on a seacraft mold. Thanks again |
Sailfish uses a variable deadrise V like SeaCraft

Never rode on one, but I checked them out at the boat show this year, and they are deffinately well put together, and are on my list if I ever get another boat.

Plenty of imitators...only one original! :-) |
I SEE 2 of the c/c sailfish,s almost everyday day ...... 2 commercial r/r fisherman
I got to check one out /when I sold out one day /these guys trailer everyday ........nice hull / nice layout ...I don,t know what they cost compared to the seahunt . I have the 210 w a 150 saltwater series 2 stroke ...... not bad on gas .but depends on how much you use it ... I love this boat & the way I have it setup // I would have probably gotten the 4 stroke /but it wasn,t available til the next season . But this setup .comes out of the hole like a dragster @ the greenlight. As far as the ride & stability .I havn,t been in any seas yet where I,ve felt threatened . See if Denis answers on this thread .we came back yesterday .I would guess 20 miles of real slop ...... strong s/sw w/ a moon outgoing against it . I don,t think Denis got a drop on him . I got got some back water on the back of my shirt from the spray hitting a shellfishing station & it would back spray ;; Good luck Mike |
My father in law just bought a 2009 18 ft Sea Hunt with a Yammy 4 stroke for $15k. 20 hrs on the engine.
There are so many deals out there right now. |
Sea Hunt is a hell of a value.
|
Sea Hunt - tough as nails - Clammer has hit everything in Narragansett Bay and it still floats all winter long with 2 feet of accumulated snow ;)
Dry boat. The Sailfish does have the Seacraft hull (very closely so anyway) so it should ride awesome. |
Yes wild ride back, but stayed dry.The sea hunt is built tough. But I love the colors of the sailfish hulls. The green would be my choice.
In all I don't think you can go wrong with either. |
I fish on a 26'Sailfish every weekend for about 4 years now.
I used to own a 23 Seacraft, and one of the reasons my buddy bought the Sailfish was the running surface. It's a really good riding boat, well built, I would definately put it on the list if I was buying. And you can't beat the Yammi 150's, not a single problem. |
I have a Key Largo 206 with Yami 150 4 stroke. Hell of a hull, no frills, easy cleanup. Just did a trip south of MV. About 130 miles on 50 gals of gas.
Gets bloody too :grins: http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...na_7_31_10.jpg |
got the same boat and use it for the same reasons. its a great boat and runs great in a chop! the 150 is a great motor
