Operating System Disc
After finding 12 active virus's on my Gateway I was able to get it cleaned
and reloaded with my back up discs. Worked perfect for 2 weeks then same problem, screen would freeze and it would take 10 mins to get to the next one. It was suggested I use the OSC disc to re-install the system as there might be a problem with one of the windows. Problem is I have no directions. Do I need to un-install anything before I use the disc, or just put it in and let it run? Thanks! |
you can also skip the disk method
reboot and watch the black screen, it'll say, hit the F8 key for "set up" ( so be tapping it repeatedly) this brings you to a set of choices... and if your running windows XP and i am assuming you are... choose LAST KNOWN good configuration or choose the go back in time selection and pick a date before this happened like may 2010 then let it boot up normally and see how that works.
