Anyone out scouting?
Hanging a few stands this week and trimming some lanes. Saw a few nice deer where I hunt last week. Gonna put up the camera's later this week also. Lotsa acorns to boot.

Whitetail
:soon:I'm getting the itch. I've struck out fishing for stripers; I know I can do better hunting for whitetails.
|
Plant a veggie garden near your stand, then point and shoot.

Started to walk the woods again this week and found lots of good sign but not a lot of acorns in my woods. But thats good as last year there were to many and the deer did not have to move all that much. Also bought my Montana lic. and 5 tags for this fall.:rotf2::rotf2:.

Put out 3 cams in this noreaster. Cant wait to pull them already. I also agree with the acorns not being reallt heavy. Last year sucked bc they didnt have to travel far to find there food.
|
No need for cams or scouting on Long Island.
They're freaking EVERYWHERE! :fury: |
Went for a walk yesterday and liked what I saw. Bumped a handful of deer and early indications are the deer population is healthy. 6 weeks to go.
|
For the last 2 weeks between 7-7:30 AM most mornings there has been Deer Parade in my back yard
|
Can I come over and shoot them?
|
Sure anytime, you know where I live. A few houses down from Jerry & Vicky McPherson (we talked last year at the Chieftian get together). I have a HUGE tree house 10'x10' you can use as a blind. My wife and kids might be horrified but that's nothing some Venison can't fix. On second thought, I better puss out and ask the wife first...............
