I'd like one but, instead of getting locked into AT&T's awful network for another 2 years, I'm waiting for Apple to go to Verizon next year and utilized Verizon's new 4G network.

I can't take randomly dropping calls while having full service any more.

Nebe 08-17-2010 01:08 PM

I rarely have problems with dropped calls.. oddly enough the only place i have troubles with it is at my studio.. :smash:

the rumors about the external antenna shorting out are true.. If you give it the death grip, you will loose reception.

I'm a klutz. My phone had a case on it before I even left the Apple store so the antenna issue never would have affected me.

I've been reading that is a rumor and there is no official statement from either company. I've had no issue with verizon and had issues with ATT before so I dont want to switch. really like the iphone though and would look really hip and young on the train with it...:biglaugh:

You're dead on about there not being any official statement. However, a supplier of wireless receiver chips just fulfilled an order for millions of CDMA chips. This is what the Verizon network runs on and it's assumed that an order this large is a major indicator that they are making a large production run of iPhones for the Verizon network.

I'm not sure on the validity of this, but Apple has apparently had a couple of Verizon network towers installed on their campus in recent months.

I'd hold out with Verizon until at least Jan 1.

I bet verizon gets the first batch of white phones.

I am waiting for the iPhone 5 which will be 4G once the Verizon network upgrades it technology. I hear that it is coming this summer.

Same here. I'm on AT&T now and, while I drop calls pretty frequently, it's not worth it to make the switch to Verizon yet for fewer features. The AT&T network is faster and I can send emails, use the GPS and other data apps while on the phone... can't with Verizon.

The only real benefit I see by going to Verizon is the HotSpot ability.

Bob Thomas 02-14-2011 11:11 AM

Upgraded the other day from my Iphone 3g to Iphone 4 on AT&T network. The guy was showing me the features, one of which was voice dial. I said I didn't have that. He laughed his arse off and said I was in the stone age with the 3g. The 4 is faster and nicer, in my opinion. Like a lot of the features and the video comes out fantastic!

Stuck with AT&T as I like the new pricing and it was cheaper than Verizon. Each has their own little quirks but for me, AT&T has been better than my old Verizon. What's another 2 years, anyway?! :biglaugh:

Nebe 02-15-2011 11:35 PM

I googled it because I was curious. Nope. No data usage.
