Hawg Hunter pencil poppers.

Big wooden swimmers---Beachmaster Danny and 40s, Cowboys. Custom Pikies.

Needlefish--Habs or Superstrike

Darters. Normally the only Gibbs plugs you'll find in my bag ;)

I second the Beachmasters...

The cowboy is so big its hard to believe the smaller fish go for em but.... they do. :D I swear the thing has to be as big as a Gibbs trolling swimmer...well maybe as long but not as fat.

Both work I guess...I have caught bass on the cowboy but never on the trolling swimmer. I tried throwing the trolling swimmer cause Frank D wrote about em in his book Striper Surf but I havn't had any luck on them yet. Either way I wouldn't throw either of those plugs until the fall. I USUALLY follow the spring/small bait - fall/large bait philosophy but I always carry something big in the spring and something small in the fall-----just in case.

If it's rough I'll throw a bottle or big needle and as far as I'm concerned NOTHING beats a live eel. You may say it ain't a plug but I disagree. :smash:
