New pair of boot foot waders
Its time to get serious. I need to replace my old waders they leak and I am not going to do the garbage bag thing (you put a garbage bag on the leg that leaks tape the top of the bag with duct tape t o keep the bag from slipping and then step into your leaky waders and possibly stay dry for a while). The only company beside very expensive Simms that has a boot foot is orvis clear water endura breathable boot foot wader at a cost of 198. Does any one out there have experience with this wader or suggestions for another compaies boot foot wader? thanks Charlie

I have a pair of LL Bean Emerger Bootfoot waders that have held up pretty well. They're in your price range too.
I see they've changed the boot style a bit from the ones I have, but with LL Bean's warranty you probably can't go wrong. Breathable Emerger Bootfoot Waders: Breathable at L.L.Bean |
I had some orvis clearwaters bootfoot for years, paid 198 for them too. I took very good care of them, rinsed, used on sand beaches mostly, when on rocks I never slide around on them. Eventually the boot part where they meet leaked, I sent them in to Orvis expecting to get another pair back under my lifetime warranty that they had at the time I bought them, but they said no.
lasted 5 or 6 years so I just bought ll beans this time, their bootfoots aren't big enough for me so I ended up having to get separate boots. It's too bad because I really liked the orvis |
i luv my bean waders, although I don't use them all that much but they are very comfortable

You cant beat LL Beans warranty...........Plus there a ton of stores around now that you can walk into a return a leaky pair....no ? asked. Hope they stay that way. Orvis use to do the same and then went to a 4 year pro rate and now one year. I my self need a new pair and think im going with the Beans. Waders for me dont last past 6 months

I am on my third pair of free LL Beans. LOVE them! I went with stocking foots tho. I love the free feeling of not wearing boots at all in the sand and the sure fit of the workboot/sneaker support of the wading boots.

More questions
When you wear stocking foot waders on a sandy beach dont you have a problem with sand getting in the shoes which is uncomfortable and can damage the waders. Secondly the bean boot foot waders do not have a traditional sole like felt on the bottom of the boots. It looks like a new type of sole. How good is its traction on sandy beaches and rocky beaches. Thanks for the help Charlie
