1000 lb + . Bluefin Speared
This is insane. Guy’s balls are bigger than his brain. I couldn't imagine the rush, fear, excitement, etc......
(Niko, don't get any ideas!!!) Story was posted on Bloodydecks and well worth checking out. 1000 lb. Bluefin Speared |
Also probably highly illegal. I'm willing to bet if he did it in U.S. water he did not have a general or harpoon category license and its impossible to get a tuna license in Canada.
|
If it was legal the only thing I would have been bothered by is it should have been a head shot so there was less damage to the money part of the fish.

so...... i'll stand in the bow w/ a bow. we'll have the arrow rigged to a hand line...we'll call it tuna hunting.

Sure. Hunting. Uh huh. :lurk: |
Yikes. Is that some sort of google translation or is it English and just that the guy has been holding his breath too often? Whatever, hats off to him.

One of the rumors is they "lost" the fish on the way back to the dock moving it with the davit.
Or... 'hey this is highly illegal'... "oops" it fell overboard. My understanding is the Canadian's don't mess around with giant tuna regs! guy has balls, but freediving has killed a few braincells me thinks... |
The thing is..... where do u get to a place in your life where the thought of something this retarded even crosses your mind. Like ya, im guna go spear fishing for things that could potentially eat me in fathoms of open ocean. good call. And i still dont understand how its even possible! dude is hard core, congrats to him, i guess...... seems highly illegal just thinking about it too
|
I don't know what the regs are in the Med where he claims to have speared another one. Anyone else notice that his "special" spear is just an old fashion lilly iron, and he mounted it to a piece of wood. Guess he never saw a harpoon?
