Catalytic converter thefts..
 

My business is in Burlington. Just got a reverse 911. Apparently in Burlington and surrounding towns,there's been an increase in the thefts of catalytic converters. Especially in trucks and SUV's..Be on the lookout.

Thanks, now that the cordless sawzall is out crooks can do just about anything. I guess they like trucks and suv's because they're easier to get under with out a jack

That's what the recording said Bob. Tool is a cordless sawzall. Higher ground clearance of pickups and SUV's for easy to slide under. Said that they seem to be targeting large commercial lots,ie malls,office parks etc..

There was a rash of thefts of catalytic converters a couple of years ago in the Park and Ride lot at the Shell station by the Sagamore Bridge.

They have hit the dealer I work at several times over the last few years. The prefferred method is a chain type roller cutter maid by vice grip. Cutoff wheels in the chain cut pipe really quick. Sawzall makes too much noise, I found a roller chain cutter underneath one vehicle half cut. Cops must have rolled through and spooked the thieves. Of course no prints...we also have lost alot of 20" wheels and tires off new trucks, every one gets wheel locks right off the truck. Every time things get tight it gets worse.

We really need to institute an eye for an eye with thieves. You steal, you lose a hand. You kill, you die.

When you don't destroy an infection, it only multiplies and gets worse. God I hate thieves.

It has less to do with the economy, than it has to do with heroin and oxycontins.

Every week, when I look at the police log in the Bourne Enterpise, it's nothing but vehicle smash and grabs, and B&Es. And it's all over town, not just in Buzzards Bay.

Make them join the military and serve in Afghanistan

I rather have that then see them cleaning the highway, but then today there was a bunch of hookers cleaning 24.

Thing is they are not Soldiers and never will be..... Someone who has nothing to lose will never stand up for something....
