North of glouster all year out here you might get 1 all summer / fall never sharked after November so that's probably a starting point

Niko,

You can really do it all year long. June and July are good. Cold water, think codfishing east of the bank.

No one really goes fising for porbeagles on purpose. They go codfishing and put one or 2 rods with baits near the bottom.

They have been crushing small ones up in Ipswich Bay for the last month or so.

Check out Newenglandsharks.com , Tom has some great info on there.

i've had a bunch of little ones chase cod up to the boat but it's time for a bigger one. how do they fight? better than the avg bluedog? though a few of the bluedogs lately have thought they were tuna, allbeit on spinning. 50's the way to go or a little lighter

There was an 8 footer caught on the bank Sunday

That is a lot of good eating shark right there.

next trip out i'm gonna put a bait on the bottom, we'll see, dogs all day

thefishingfreak 11-11-2010 05:53 PM

They will come right up to the boat, no need to deal with the dogs all day
