Thinking about a SOT
I live in the New Haven CT area and would like to buy a SOT for fishing. Saltwater will be limited to the Sound. Might try to fish a few spots in some of the local ponds I haven't been able to wade to, but the majority of my time will be spent in the salt. At 50 years old I have my share of aches and pains, including occasional back soreness.
I am wondering what dealerships I can go to with a good selection that will let me do a test paddle? Are SOT's hard on the back, or is it model/seat specific? For LI Sound, how much length do I need for acceptable speed and tracking? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I guess I am looking for a starter boat <$800 would be swell. Ideas?? Thanks in advance for your help ab |
If I were you I would make a few choices and see if you could hook up with someone who may let you test theirs?? I have a Hobie and highly recommend them!
