For those of you who whine when people keep their fish......this is what they look like when we get them home!! We actually eat them!! On a night like tonight with a good football game on.....it don't get much better!!!:uhuh:

striperman36 10-04-2010 07:31 PM

a good chowda biscuit, so fresh ground pepper and we are good to go!

BigFish 10-04-2010 07:33 PM

Moments later...a pat of butter, some Town House crackers (crushed of course) and some pepper rounded out the meal!!!! Ooooohhhhh boy was it good!!!:uhuh:

Nothing like fish chowder with fresh striped bass, as opposed to random "white fish" from who knows where

striperman36 10-04-2010 07:43 PM

you need these
The Origonal Trenton Cracker

bigbuck28 10-04-2010 08:02 PM

Looks like some good stuff.

BigFish 10-04-2010 08:07 PM

I used to use Oyster Crackers but the Town House add so much flavor!!!:uhuh: There is striper, cod and clams in there!

striperman36 10-04-2010 08:11 PM

BigFish, looks great. Is it a top secret family recipe handed down from generation to generation or can you share with us?

Guys I cannot tell a lie! This is a recipe I got from Issue #1 of Surfcasters Journal! It belongs to Bonnie Vedeer the wonderful proprietor of the Cuttyhunk Fishing Club! I took a few liberties with the recipe but if you want a can't miss Fish Chowder recipe......check out issue #1 SCJ!!! Its super easy too!!!:uhuh:

Looks good, Larry. Is it safe to assume that October is going better for you than September?

It just so happened that I had to kill a bass the other night and I thought of fish chowder because of this thread.

I searched for a recipe and found "Jasper Whites New England Fish Chowder".....Well the wife made it and I must say that its the BEST fish chowder I have ever had.Its a little bit of work but sooo worth it.I recomend it to all of you.

Joe

Fair enough....I have to see if I can somehow get the recipe over here using my primitive computer skills....

Oh that looks awesome! Now I have to go make some. I also add a can of creamed corn to my chowda. It gives it a little sweetness.
I have cooked striper at least a hundred ways.
Striped Bass Parmesean is a winner
Bake stuffed with a ritz and crabmeat stuffing
Every bit of every fish I keep gets eaten. I am totally guilt free.:grins:
