The most important thing you ever do . . .
"Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction , to wit : by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, it's necessary consequence, "
Thomas Jefferson Don't let that happen. Vote today, God knows enough people have died to give you the privilege. |

If you don't vote, you can't blame or complain about anybody but yourself.

I voted today, for the first time ever at 38 years old. I guess I finally smartened up. I can't imagine how many other people out there think their vote won't count because it's only one vote. I was quite surprised when they didn't ask for identification. I would think this would be required. Especially in todays day and age, I offered my license but they said I didn't need to show it!

I feel very empowered when I go to the voting booth and I know I have a say. And lets not forget the change this year in Massachusetts due to the expected high voter turnout! All liberal voters (or democrats) will vote on Wednesday, 11/3. Republicans and informed Independents will vote today, Tuesday 11/2! Make sure! :devil2: |

One thing I noticed this morning was that there were fewer people than the last Presidential election, and no one in pajama's at my voting place. There was still a good turnout, though. |
I have voted in every election I waseligible to vote in. This does not include primaries where often , especially in RI and especially especially in Cumberland where there was no doubt who would win the primary. I have voted in most primaries but not all. I once had to go through the whole routine to get and fill out and send in an absentee vote. i was traveling internationally as I often did but I made sure I got my vote in.
I know a lot of times people like Kennedy or Langevine win by 85% or whatever lopside margins but I still vote even in those types of contests. So get out and vote. thi9s year the Governor and US reprsentative races are close. Every vote will matter there. I also heard that everyone who votes is blessed with enough luck t catch 1 more fish each year. That one extra could be "The Big One" so get out there and earn your extra fish!! :) |
I always need to vote to cancel out my wife's vote

This year my wife is even voting with me on most, we're not canceling each other out much at all this year ;) |
Even if you don't like the candidates, you also have referendum questions. As stated prior: If you don't vote, don't complain to me later on when you don't like how things turned out.
This is one of the few times were there are more contested races than most of us could ever recall. No one is a shoe-in, lock, guaranteed winner so that evert vote truly does count. For the record, I DID vote in my pajamas (I call them "lounge-wear"). |
