Before I go to the witch doctor . . . .
I seem to have a pretty bad case of achilles tendonitis.
Any one ever deal with this and how was the treatment ? F'n eye watering at times. |

Are you SURE it is the Achilles tendon? As in the doctor (no witch) stated? Or does it FEEL like the tendon? Reason i ask is I thought I had something like that, turns out something else that only feels like moderate sized pieces of glass on the tendon. |
take two toadstools and seance me at midnight
|
I had it. They cut my foot off and transplanted it in my mouth. Seems like a good fit.

Nice!:hihi:
Next it will be " put the lime in the coconut and drink em all up " |
Not sure if it’s similar but I had a lot of pain in my heel and lower Achilles over the summer and it ended up being a case of plantar fasciitis. I think running combined with long nights standing on the rocks was the cause. It was very painful first thing in the morning but would loosen up after 5-10 minutes of walking around and then be fine most of the day. Icing helped but ultimately I had to take about a month and a half off from running to allow it to heal up.

Definitely the achilles, 3 to 4 inches up from the heel radiates a little bit into the calf.
Heels fine. Too much rock perching I guess. |
cortisone won't work

Again, Doc confirmed? |
I'd get to your M.D. soon b/c that tendonitis, if left untreated for a long period of time, may just give out on you and turn into a full blown rupture. This is coming from a medical professional, not webMD

Confirmed.
This may take a while . . . Damn . . . not as supple and spry as I once was. |
tendonitis
I had a case of it a couple of months ago. The doctor "gave" me a brace that fit over the ball of the foot and fit up over the calf. Meant to pull the toes back towards the knee stetching the tendon. I had the problem for awhile before seeing the doctor but it must have been a milder case. Also got some stetching exercises which I ignored.. The brace must have done the trick as it seems OK now. Hope yours heels up soon.

Dont's forget the RISE.
Rest Ice Support Elevation. Plantar faciatis is terrible. I had it years ago when I was a runner. Simply put it was overuse as I was running 60 miles a week. Stopped running and it went away. If yours is up in the high ankle and calf then it's not Plantar. Be careful as someone else pointed out. You do not want to rupture your achillies. Long recovery from a rupture. Hope you feel better |

I had tendon problems in the wrist and elbow of my right arm. A slow numbing pain, with tingles. Ended up getting cut. The operation cured it. I haven't had any problems for years. I hope it doesn't get to that point for you.

see a PT or get an orthopedist to write a script for you to see a PT you not regret it.

The misses is getting me some info that I'll get over to you. |
Marathon PT in Norton, Eric Farley, also mansfield wrestling coach, has been able to get me to the point where I can actually walk normally, after decades of debilitating injury and knee replacement. Most of the other PT's in Norton are just as good.

Bob,
Lop off the leg just below the knee, get a wooden leg and buy a parrot. You'll need a sand attachment, rock attachment and a bike clip. Make sure that you get second opinions and don't delay with going to a doctor, seasons over and you'll be ready for next season. Good luck! Give me a shout if you need help! Mike |
You mean help loping off the leg or making the new wheels

Thanks,

take a bunch of ibuprofen and let it rest, or if you have some of the big ones, i think like 800's, leftover from some previous injury. you will feel better the next morning. i had that this spring when i broke my heel because i had to walk on it weird. it was kinda incredible how fast the stuff worked, it usually never works on anything with me.
