Bugger...

How can I tell what type of memory sticks I have? I have a TON but no idea what they are. Old, newer, even newer stuff.

If you have any idea how I can tell, lemme know. Like I said...i've got a TON!

UserRemoved1 12-14-2010 05:15 PM

oh man I'm not the one to answer this. You need to ask a GEEK or a NERD

There's a few here :hee:

Does each stick have a paper label? Read it!

Sometimes it is actually written/imprinted on the circuit board itself?

UserRemoved1 12-14-2010 06:23 PM

yea or on the chip. But it don't always say WHAT kind of memory it is. There is PC100, PC133, ddr, sdram, whackyjamram, the list goes on. It will look different on the bottom too where the pins are, some have one divider, some have two.

Sometimes it's only marked on the chips. If your not sure what it is punch it in google...

UserRemoved1 12-14-2010 06:24 PM

or just bring it all to me and I'll figure it out and use it :)

striperman36 12-14-2010 07:19 PM

What I SHOULD have said is

Bring it all to me and I'll figure out how to destroy it

PRBuzz 12-17-2010 03:29 PM

I have 2 modules if anyone interested

PC 133MHz, 128Mb, synch, CL3 (?) SDRAM if anyone interested. Came out of a Dell, still has Dell on label. For older computers.

I got a box addressed from Tim S today. I was afraid to open it.

There was a note inside.

"Salty

I saw you were in need of some memory. Enjoy! Not sure what is what but your welcome to it all.
Your bestest friend in the whole wide world
Timmy S"

There's like 10g's worth of memory in the box :rotf2:

Bob Thomas 12-20-2010 04:17 PM
